Asus eee 1000h

Postby Frosticle » Fri Mar 13, 2009 4:57 pm

Hello there,

I have recieved my new Asus eee 1000h today and i am kinda wondering if i should go for Linux mint instead of XP.
So, i first considerd dualbooting. But with a 160GB hdd and two different filesystems its seems like a waste of space.

Does anyone know if the asus eee 1000h is fully compatible with Mint?
I am considering Linux Mint 6 XFCE, since this probably is the best distro for such a small laptop.

But my knowledge when it comes to customising drivers, and making them fit regardless if they are supported or not is very limited.
When i dicide and start working i kinda want to avoid problems as much as possible hence my post here.

A confirmation from someone who have tried this would be awsome.

I can't say something for sure about this model but there are numerous Mint installed on the eeepc
Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it

Hi Frosticle
I am just curious whether you went ahead with the Linux Mint on the Asus EEE 1000H? If so, how did it go? any issues?
I am having a trouble with the WLAN and a few other things under the Linux Mint 7 Gloria on the same laptop.
