Lenovo Y50-70 Touchpad Hotkey

Post by nfld.republic » Sun Oct 30, 2016 3:34 pm

Hi Folks,

I have seen a few posts via Google University on enabling the Fn-F6 hotkey combination to enable/disable the touchpad in Linux Mint 18. I have tried the Mint 17 fix by updating

Code: Select all

/lib/udev/hwdb.d/60-keyboard.hwdb
with:

Code: Select all

# Lenovo 20378
keyboard:dmi:bvn*:bvr*:svnLENOVO*:pn*20378*:pvr*
 KEYBOARD_KEY_f3=f21 # Fn+F6 (toggle touchpad)
The "original" command to update the HWDB appears to have changed from

Code: Select all

udevadm hwdb --update
with

Code: Select all

systemd-hwdb update
but that does not work either.

Ironically, the Fn-F6 works with the LiveCD...

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!
