Keyboard not working going out of standby on a laptop

Hello,

I use a laptop Acer Swift 3 and Mint 18.1 cinnamon goes well overall. I used Mint 17.1 to 17.3 and 18 cinnamon on my HP pavilion dv6 without ever having a problem. But the Acer Swift 3 being a very new device on the market gives me some worries since I decided to leave Windows 10 and install the stable version of Mint 18.1 cinnamon. When my computer is on standby with the screen turned down for a while, the keyboard does not work when I raise the screen and goes out of standby on the new cinnamon screen saver , even if I switch to the other screen and use the Virtual keyboard, the keyboard does not respond even on the desktop. (It happens 1 times out of 3) Then I have to restart what is not so long with an SSD. I also had a problem with detection/connection to the wifi when I raise the screen and goes out of standby and get to the desktop, there again a restart was necessary.

These are the only 2 problems encountered with Mint 18.1 cinnamon in just over 24 hours of use. I will continue to use Mint 18.1 cinnamon wishing that it will be fixed with updates in the future.

The Atheros QCA6174 problem has been solved, see link below or search forum for QCA6174

As for the keyboard not being detected on resume, can you describe more? Virtual keyboard?

Occasionally when I moved pictures or video files, Nemo asked me for my administrator password to display the thumbnails. So I went into Nemo's preferences and I've turned off thumbnail previews and since that time Linux Mint 18.1 Cinnamon is very stable. No problem with my keyboard going out of sleep on the new cinnamon screensaver . My wifi has always reconnected as well. I made this change 24 hours ago and since then, I made several going out of sleep with my laptop and for now I cross my fingers and I hope it will continue to work well.

Sadly, I'm still experiencing the keyboard issue on the new Cinnamon screensaver.

I'm back to Windows 10 cause I need to use my computer without having to troubleshoot. I'll retry later in a few weeks and hopefully the keyboard issue will be fixed for me. I need to install it and use something that works out of the box. And now it's not cool to reboot my computer everytime I have to use it.

I'd like to say that Linux Mint team does a great job and that Linux is a lot more fun to use with this distribution

Keep on the good work
