You have to find out if and how the USB dongle is detected
Plug it in and run lsusb in a terminal
The ID number you find is a very good starting point to google about the app
Post it if you don't find anything

Does not help at all* - please plug it in and run lsusb
*why you wonder - it can be any number of different chips behind the name, even different between versions of the hardware

Now I start finding something useful
What's the result of

Code: Select all

lsmod | grep lirc

And this makes me wonder - have you installed lirc?

Code: Select all

apt install lirc
