Here is what I expect to happen:
-When I right click on the bluetooth manager and hit "Set up device", it will find my device and ask me for the pin, and pair with my device.
Here is what actually happens:
-The bluetooth manager finds my device and asks me for the pin. Since my device (a Canon Mark 1 calculator mouse) does not have a pin, I put '0000' in. It tries to connect for awhile, and says that it cannot pair with my device. Often, on subsequent attempts it will fail right off the bat, and not even ask for a pin.
I know that the mouse works perfectly well, because I booted a LM16 Petra Cinnamon live disk and went through the process; it connected in about 3 seconds, and worked perfectly.
The problem occurs both on LM18.1 Cinnamon (my main installation) and on on the LM18.1 XFCE live USB, which I was testing. I would like to get my mouse working with XFCE before I make the upgrade on my laptop computer.
The Bluetooth on the XFCE live connects perfectly fine with my tablet.
