Greetings.
I recently purchased through Amazon a USB Footpedal for the purpose of audio transcribing, and I don't know where to get started in getting it to work.
I've plugged it in and lsusb returns "Bus 004 Device 002: ID 05f3:00ff PI Engineering, Inc. VEC Footpedal", and that's about as far as I've gotten, really.
A couple of Google searches later:
Saul Albert posted on this very issue back in 2013 - http://saulalbert.net/blog/transcriptio ... der-linux/
leading me to this project that doesn't seem to be maintained - https://github.com/kostmo/footpedal
Will the instructions in the former link still work today? I've been poking around different websites and haven't found any luck in getting it working.
Any advice on where to get started?

Re: Infinity USB footpedal setup
The post on Saul Albert's page did get me up and running with a few things to note:
1. creating a .rules file in /etc/udev/rules.d didn't seem to do anything, this is actually addressed by an error message when starting footpedal
2. the UI config script doesn't seem to be functional, so the file /usr/bin/footpedal.py has to be modified for custom output
