I am sorry but it is very hard to say anything about random freezes
Check the logs after it happens - System logs in the menu

gdmgreeter is the login screen and I don't think it should be active - did you just try to log in?
That and a networking problem seems to be all, but I see
vmnetBridge
and this means you are using VMware
Is Mint host or guest?
This changes the scene considerably

Hard to say what's going on, but it seems that maybe apps that should not be started are running and that can be a problem
But this is among the most difficult to answer
