I have encountered a peculiar problem while trying to get MacOS-like finger gestures working on my laptop, which is a Dell Inspiron 15 3000 series. I have tried several different methods of achieving this, such as libinput-gestures which can be found at this link: https://github.com/bulletmark/libinput-gestures
as well as another repository fusuma: https://github.com/iberianpig/fusuma.
Both of these work on my laptop, and I am able to customize each how I'd like but when I try configure a gesture, specifically a 3 finger swipe up/down, to view all windows (ctrl+alt+Down in Mint) occasionally Mint will pick up a 3 finger tap which will close the window the cursor is currently hovering over and I want to disable this, whatever is causing it. I have tried searching for this on the interwebs for this problem but I have had no luck so far. I have disabled 3 finger click emulation in trackpad settings in Mint settings, but that hasn't changed anything.
What I have noticed:
- The 3 finger click is being identified as a middle mouse click, which is closing a window in show all windows.
I do believe that both github repositories are not to blame for this annoyance, I believe it to be the OS.
- I would like to use libinput-gestures, I prefer this over Fusuma.
I would not like to disable the middle mouse button, only the closing window action when I am viewing all windows in my current workspace
Please let me know if I need to post any output of any terminal commands, I am not sure which ones to use or which are appropriate.
Many thanks in advance
