Post by zquirrel » Fri Aug 18, 2017 4:53 pm

I was offered a tablet wacom intuos pro paper for my birthday, but the system does not recognize it, I am under mint 17.3 kde and I try a little everything I find on the web (I'm new to linux) , but it still not work. If I pass under mint 18.2 cinnamon will it recognize it?
thanks for help (I really don’t want to go back to windows )

Hi Zquirell,

here a newby that's going to look for a pen tablet tomorrow (RSI in combination with urge to get rid of paper drawing..)
did you get the chance to get your Intuos running?, I always thought it would be a kind of plug and play situation, with maybe only a get driver update.
And yeah, I also really really don't want to go back to windows 8)

for what it's worth, we have looked at a couple of tablets:

an Intuos CTH-680/S0-C that works instantly with Mint 18.3

....... however Mate does not have a config icon; Cinnamon does; but it does all the drawing etc that I seem to need

__________

and the Ugee M708 similarly just "works" to my limited evaluations;

one of the forum members called ArtGirl uses these devices much more; so she may see this thread; or you could send her an email through Mint;
