Cricket wireless in Mint KDE

Postby dtracer46 » Mon May 04, 2009 11:26 pm

I am using Mint Linux gnome and like it a lot. I would like to try Mint KDE but I have questions. I have tried Kubuntu and it will not recognize my wireless internet which is through a usb dongle supplied by Cricket Wireless phone company. Does anyone know if I can get it working in Mint KDE. Mint Gnome picked it up automatic. I am strictly a newbie, but I would like to try the KDE distro also. Any advise would be appreciated.
Thanks

Should work, but I can't guarantee it
The way to find this out is to run lsusb (the l is a minor L to avoid any misunderstanding) in a terminal with the dongle connected
Then google the ID you find this way and KDE4

Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it

I was able to get the wireless working in the live cd. I am going to install the the program and I will try to document what steps I had to take. I am posting this from the live cd. Thanks
