Does anyone have one of these?...... Running Mint 18.2 Cinnamon 64bit....... Buttons on both pen and tablet will not work and tablet is not recognised by OS..... Does anyone know of a workaround to get this tablet to work?
If someone on here could point me in the right direction that would be great..... thanks in advance

Hi Rick; welcome to the forums;

here is a link to a project that some great folks did: https://digimend.github.io/

the wonders of all the hard work that volunteers put into things ........ all very admirable ........

according to this https://digimend.github.io/tablets/Huion_H610pro/ your device should be supported;

_________

I thought these drivers were now "in the system" .... meaning it should be plug and play ........ I did install them I think with an earlier version of Mint; I sadly don't write down all the stuff I do so I don't have chapter & verse but all installed well;

reading through, I am not sure now and they offer a deb package https://github.com/DIGImend/digimend-ke ... s/releases that should surely be installed

many would suggest adding the latest kernel to give one's self the best shot ......... others would go ........ tut, tut ........... stay with the existing kernel ...... end result is ........ linux is for adults ......... your choice ...........

____________

Cinnamon seems the right desktop to use as there is configure icon for graphics tablets; there is not one for Mate that I know of .............

Thanks pdc_2, and sorry I've only seen this thread now. Definitely Cinnamon is the desktop for graphics tablets; when I was exploring, I tried other versions of Mint and other distros, and only Cinnamon worked, and perfectly. Yes, I believe all the digimend drivers were brought over and integrated.

Rick, I've just found the Huion Pro 610 I own. Have been using Ugee 2150 for over a year now, on both 18.1 and 18.3 ... the Ugee M708 may be an option ... I believe pdc_2 owns one and there are other posts I've seen here saying it works, in the event of your Huion being faulty and if you wanted to refund. Huion may well send you a replacement though, and are a nice company.

I unplugged the Ugee's 3 wires, plugged the Huion into usb, and it worked immediately and with pressure. I'm wondering if yours has a fault or if it may be something else ... just to throw out some thoughts ... this shouldn't matter, as the Ugee has never been affected by anything else, but have you tried it on an fresh system install, incase e.g. there are some hidden added-in graphics drivers or altered settings lurking somewhere? everything charged/no faulty cables or usb slot? the green light top-left on the Huion flashes on? No device bar the Wacom will show up in the Settings/Graphic tablet section, as far as I understand; the Ugee and Huion don't. Also, I use the Ugee mirrored, and it's great ... without mirroring, there's a few inches gap between the pen tip and the paint stroke and strokes go off-screen. Mirroring takes it to within a millimetre or so, which is no problem at all.

I'm erring on that it may be faulty, but it's worth trying the other things. Otherwise, I'd contact Huion about it, and see about a refund/exchange, plus there's the Ugee M708 there [around £50]. But the Huion definitely should work fine as soon as plugged in, without any driver installs/tweaks, as long as mirrored.
