installing nvida drivers

Hallo
im not good with linux. so please be patient. I tried installing my Ge force ( nvida) graphical card. I followed the suggestion here viewforum.php?f=59 but it didnt work. When i typed in sudu /etc/init.d/mdm stop nothing happened.

Could someone explain how i install on linux mint 18.2 sonya. Also im not very good with the terminal and totally not with the display manager.

with this code -> inxi -Fxz i get that it doesn't recognize it.

Basically you need to first disable Secure Boot in the computer bios setup, then from LM Driver Manager utility install recommended Nvidia driver. Reboot to complete.
