Win 10 is preinstalled by the OEM in fake-RAID disk mode using Intel's very proprietary Intel RST driver. So, Linux cannot be installed and can't detect the hard-disk. Linux requires AHCI disk mode.

There are 2 fixes available to install LM alongside Win 10.
1. use Windows Safe Mode and issue some bcdedit commands. This fix (EDIT) changes an installed Win 10 from RAID to AHCI disk mode without the need to reinstall Win 10 in AHCI disk mode. Google Search for the exact procedures.
2. reinstall Win 10 in AHCI disk mode, then install LM.

Also, Gigabyte motherboards are notorious for presenting problems booting and installing Linux = pro-M$ and anti-Linux.?
... Since Win 10/2015, M$ told the OEMs that it is their choice whether to make Secure Boot disableable or not. Of course, M$ prefer the OEMs to make Secure Boot permanently enabled. Seems, a few OEMs are listening to M$'s bidding, eg by making it difficult to boot and install Linux.

Please refer to another fix at ... https://askubuntu.com/questions/963087/ ... nd-raid-on

Also, ... http://en.community.dell.com/support-fo ... t/20013606

Last resort is to reinstall Win 10 in AHCI disk mode and then install LM alongside.
