Hello,
My old laptop died and I want to buy a new one. Of course, one of the most important thing for the new laptop is to be compatible with Linux Mint. The laptop I chose is Fujitsu LifeBook E754. There is very little information about this very model running under Linux. I also found a post on Twitter, that someone had a problem with using keyboard and trackpad while running Linux on this machine. Do you have any experience with this Fujitsu running under Linux? I checked www.linux-laptop.net, but, unfortunately, this site does not provide any information on the computer I am interested in. I don't want to waste money on buying something which will not work for me.

The tried and true method is to boot it up with a live CD image, preferably from a USB stick. There's no other reliable method really.
All I can really say about hardware is that I'll never buy a computer with AMD graphics again and probably also Broadcom wireless adapters. Their Linux support isn't the best.

According to this German link, Ubuntu was successfully installed. So, LM should be no problem. ... https://translate.google.com/translate? ... richten%2F
Seems, that problem only happens to a Ubuntu install with an encrypted hard-drive, as per ... https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour ... ug/1314764miclis wrote: I also found a post on Twitter, that someone had a problem with using keyboard and trackpad while running Linux on this machine.

Just as an information:
I purchased the above-mentioned laptop and installed Linux Mint 18.1 on it. It works without any problems, so I can tell, that it is compatible with LM.
Thanks you all guys for advice.
