hp mini 110 wifi not working (solved)

Post by Drod »

Just did a fresh install of Mint 18.2 32bit yesterday, cannot get WiFi to work.
Intel Atom N2600 / 1.6 GHz. 2GB RAM 500GB HDD

WiFi doesn't turn on, I've tried using all three of the alternate drivers listed in Mint:
bcmwl-kernel-source(recommended)
version 6.30.223.271+broadcom-0ubuntu 1~1.2

firmware-b43-installer
Version 1:019-2

Firmware-b43legacy-installer
Version 1:019-2

none of which work for me.

at the beginning of this year i started to play with linux for the very first time in my life, and installed Mint 18.1 the first time i remember the WiFi worked just fine. Then i tired to install and dual boot Mint with Debian and i couldn't get Debian installed i messed up the disk partitions got frustrated and dropped it. Now i want to use this Mini again and tired to go fresh from start and install the newest mint version and though that it would fix my issues but.... no.

I have like 4 different issues but the first one and the most "simple" one (i think) is this, to get the WiFi to work.

Would appreciate any help
