AMCREST IP3M-943 and Mint

Post by JohnGlennMBCI » Thu Dec 14, 2017 4:47 pm

I have 2 AMCREST IP3M-943 security cameras that worked under Win OS. I reformatted my notebook for Linux Mint (REM'ed Win 10).
I checked several s/w sites for one that works under Linux AND works with the AMCREST cameras. Most Web sites were too generic ("We work with all cameras"). Information from anyone with AMCREST experience would be MOST appreciated. TIA

If I have helped you solve a problem, please add [SOLVED] to your first post title, it helps other users looking for help, and keeps the forum clean.
I am using Mint 19 Cinnamon 64 bit with AMD A8/7410 processor . Memory 8GB

Thanks deepakdeshp, but the link only mentions Win and Mac OSs; no mention of Linux of Ubuntu.
There are at least three (3) LINUX apps that claim to allow the AMCREST cameras to function within Linux.
* ZONEMINDER (see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E9Jpy-kQokE)
* SHINOBI (see https://shinobi.video/pro)
* BLUE IRIS (NOT FREE see http://blueirissoftware.com/)
There also is a way via Firefox (see AMCREST forum @http://tinyurl.com/yaynqpa8) and (I'm checking) via Chrome browsers.
== I have not (yet) installed Linux Mint due to a Win 10 problem (Secure Boot) but anticipate letting Linux Mint format C:/ and install as the sole OS.
== Aside from AMCREST, Linux & Ubuntu libraries seem to have everything covered.
