SOLVED-XFCE power manager stopped working after mint update

Post by hhill » Sat Jan 13, 2018 7:33 pm

Hope this is the right place to post this. I am running Mint 17.3 XFCE and up until a few days ago after an update the power manger was able to suspend the system after 1 hour. Now it will not suspend the system. I am able to suspend the system manually either through the menu or command line, but not with automatically with the power manger settings. I have already tried installing and reinstalling the power manager and that did not fix it.

I was wondering if anyone had any other thoughts about what to try?

Thanks for your time.

I realized that I was just restarting the system, and had the thought maybe I should do a complete shut down and reboot. On the first shut down the system hung and I had to do a hard shut down. I then did one more shut down and reboot to see if that was working ok and after that the power manager started working and would suspend the system like it did before.
