How to update Intel ME (Management Engine) on my Linux Mint laptop

Hi!
as the topic title says, I'd like to update Intel ME on my Mint, as I've confirmed it vulnerable using Intel's tool.
My notebook vendor sent me a firmware file and a Windows executable tool to do the work - but at my request to have a Linux (or a DOS) version of the tool, they simply answered that Intel doesn't provide the tool for Linux (or DOS).

Now I'm wondering - how you guys did the update? I would like to avoid installing Windows on this laptop, as I don't really need it.

Any suggestion?

It seems to be a complex mess. I wouldn't expect a linux update tool from your vendor either.

Well, I wouldn't expect Intel NOT to release the firmware update tool for other OS than Windows - after all, I'm their customer too, even if I run Linux - isn't that true?

I'll try with Hiren's - let's see.
