You may find this odd, but the BIOS I downloaded and installed was F21, after having problems with F22. Why it says F20 on inxi I have no idea, I never loaded F20. (I didn't notice that until you brought it up, thanks)
I did load the Optimized Defaults at first reboot after I installed the BIOS, made one other change also, I forget what they called it, but I turned off the LED lights on the motherboard.
Maybe I will redownload F21 and reinstall it, it's doubtful, but the possibility exists that I downloaded F20 by mistake. (I am only human, but some people would argue that point  )
Someday, maybe I'll figure out exactly what the hell I'm doing.

As long as you only Set Optimized Defaults - Save - Exit, and then go back and edit BIOS again to make any customized change, that should work. That nuance may be more crucial with some BIOS updates, but it does reinitialize UEFI including peripherals detection. If you aren't following the Q-Flash guide to the letter, it might explain some of your reported problems. Moving from the F10 BIOS or older to F20 and newer is probably a good example, as that's a major rewrite of AGESA (which is why it started over with numbering).

I had it running again, and it was doing rather well, but then the screen started "freezing up" the mouse cursor would move, and that was it. I was listening to Pandora with Pithos and when the screen froze up, the music never stopped playing. I tried several different Linux distros, and ran into much the same problems with all of them. However, Ubuntu Budgie was a bit different, for some reason, when it failed, I could reboot it and go into the grub menu and click on advanced, from there, I got a menu, and chose continue, I would then get a warning about graphics drivers and chose OK on that. That would get me to a low resolution desktop, all I would have to do is click on "restart", the computer would reboot, and everything would be fine until I made a change to the desktop, or added or removed a program. The next time I started the computer, it wouldn't boot, and I would have to go through the whole process again.

However, I finally got tired of fighting with it, pulled an old Nvidia graphics card out of my junk box, installed it in the computer, reinstalled Linux Mint, and so far, it's working just fine, but it makes the idea of buying a chip because it has integrated graphics circuitry pointless because it doesn't work. Oh well, lesson learned.

Just in case you are interested, here is the latest output from inxi:

For the Ryzen Freeze problem, there is a new BIOS setting starting with F20. Look for PSU Idle Control and set it to "Typical Current Idle".

I have the F22 BIOS installed, and I can't find it anywhere.

I believe it's located in BIOS setup in the M.I.T. section under "Advanced CPU Core Settings".

The hope is, the new BIOS setting is a fix for this problem and perhaps other related.

The computer is running well since I put the video card in it, so what I think I will do is wait until Linux Mint 19 comes out in a few months time, and continue the fight with that, if there is one. What I would really like to do is get my hands on the release candidate and see what fun I can have with it.
Someday, maybe I'll figure out exactly what the hell I'm doing.

Yes IT work. Have a 2200G.
But I use software rendering... Video and other OK.
If you can live with it. And wait for. that better support comes.
So just buy.
It works OK in software rendering, .It is software and not hardware.
But it bounces about to restart every time you start up.
Just say "no"
Is completely satisfied, very cheap also in power. can be overclocked a lot.
But I use standard And a bigger cooler from a 1600 Ryzen.
And a good motherboard where I can set the fan very low.
= Almost noiseless :-)

I know the video will work fairly well with software rendering, but that's not the point, I didn't want to use software rendering, and on top of that I couldn't get the HDMI sound function to work with software rendering, which doesn't work very well when you are running it through an AV receiver. The thing that eventually made me give up is because I would manage to get it running almost perfectly, and it would stay that way for days, and then, for reasons I have yet to figure out, refuse to boot, or just freeze up. (I've been told that the freeze up problem can be solved with a settings change in the BIOS, see some of the earlier posts here) I would get it running again, just to have the same thing happen a few days later. I finally got tired of fighting with it. I'll just wait until Mint 19 comes out in a few months time, and try installing that.

I got bored, and started trying to get it working again, and I did, although, for how long is anyone's guess. Here is what I've discovered so far, to make it work, you need a bunch of firmware files that don't come with Linux Mint and the 4.16.0-041600-generic x86_64 Kernel, and they all have to be installed in a certain order. If anyone is foolish enough to want to try it, I'll write up a set of installation instructions. However, be warned, I know enough about Linux Mint to be extremely dangerous, and all of this is the result of me trying stuff until I found something that worked. Maybe someone who actually knows what they are doing can figure out what I actually did.

Update: I've been trying to get the Cinnamon desktop working, and all it did was give me headaches, so I tried the Mate desktop, so far, it works just fine, and you don't need those firmware files, although the uuku installation of the 4.15.1-041501-generic x86_64 kernel complains about them not being there. So if you are bound and determined to run Mint 18.3 Try Mate.

I have machne with Mint 18.3 Mate and Ryzen 3 2200G, with kernel 4.15 update 20 from Mint repository is 2D working fine.

I have tested Unigine Heaven - 3D is running, but only few FPS, so i need to know, how to install proper 3D driver? I tried hardware drivers controll panel, but nothing here.

I haven't tried 3D yet on my computer, but the one thing I can guess is that, in Linux terms, the 2200G is still relatively new, and the people working on the driver(s) for it are still working on them, so the 3D drivers may not be complete.

]Now you CAN - The latest Mint - Linux Mint 19 Tara
Working Flawlessly on Mint 19

Have even used a 16.x, where I manually upgrade kernel to last new build. and it worked well the last 6 months. - Ukuu Kernel Update Utility

But I think a choice of the latest Ubuntu might be better if you do not want to upgrade manual. The is the core a generation newer.

But for the last 3-4 months, it seemed ok, hardware support for graphics. And better handling of USB, which was NOT good at first. With few exceptions, the build has also been stable.

Just to update on this issue. I have built a system on the 2200G and a Gigabyte X470 mb. I use the latest Manjaro "testing" ISO (18-RC) with Kernel 4.19 and it finally looks like it's working now. I found Mint pretty limited in kernel selection by default. Manjaro give you the possibility of installing the very latest easily. Manjaro version 18, release in a few days, will come with kernel 4.19 by default so it will easily install on those systems. I think the Mint iso still come with K4.15 which is problematic.

Note : Manjaro 18B (17 too) also come with the latest mesa version - 18.2.3. Mint 18.3 still has 18.0.5. Not sure about Mint 19 version.

Note 2 : Manjaro 18 is now released.
