Has anyone got Samsung's DEX working on a Mint Desktop?

Post by ampers »

I am using Linux Mint Cinnamon 18.3

I have plugged in the power cable to the Dex.

I have plugged in an Ethernet cable between the Dex and the Ethernet Switch.

I have put my 90% charged Galaxy S9 Plus in the Dex.

Nothing whatsoever is seen on the desktop screen.

Is there something that needs tweaking on the desktop.

Please keep it simple. I may seem young, but my brain is 78 years old :-(

Not sure how you're attempting to use the Dex. My first guess: You don't mention connecting the Dex via HDMI cable to monitor/TV.

Here's a good video on setup and use of the Dex.

Edit: I'm 65 and always try to keep it simple.

Edit2: My daughter just got a 9+ and was thinking of surprising her with a Dex.
