USB 3.0 to HDMI Converter
Hello - I am trying to find out if anyone has experience with converting a video stream from 1 PC (HDMI) to a PC running Mint (USB 3.0). I see a lot of converters that allow this video feed from 1 pc to another using the HDMI to USB 3.0 but I didn't want to guess which converter to use. If anyone has experience in this area, please share which device is being used that works with Mint. Thanks!!

Re: USB 3.0 to HDMI Converter
I understand DisplayLink chips might work or at least they have drivers and appear to be working with Ubuntu (no personal experience, so can't make a recommendation). Check the last post here.

If you follow that post to this website and look at USB-A connectors, you'll get this page of devices using their chip and some are USB3.0 to HDMI.
http://www.displaylink.com/products/find?cat=3&usba=1
If you examine the links for each device, they give specs on OSes supported, e.g. here's the link for one of the Diamond products and it shows Ubuntu under System Requirements.

I would recommend you walk through their list with links, and then do some searches to see if there are those with Ubuntu/Mint by product for any posted experiences.

Re: USB 3.0 to HDMI Converter
I looked at the one you linked at Newegg. Isn't that one for Display Port, not HDMI?
