Way to screen mirror to Roku?

Post by Mastiff »

I hope this is the right forum. I'm looking at a particular TV that has built in Roku and I need to be able to mirror my desktop to the TV. Is there software available for Linux Mint to allow this to happen?

Just connect an HDMI out on the computer to an HDMI in on the TV, and it will recognize it as a second monitor, and you will be able to select the option to mirror. The Roku part really doesn't come into play.

It comes into play because I want to do it wirelessly. Apparently Roku has a screen mirror feature for Windows and Android, so I'm wondering if anything has been developed for Linux.

If I'm castings a video from a web browser, Chromecast works well with me. I connect Chromecast to the HDMI port on my tv, and I use the cast option in the Chrome browser.
