two displays work only in clonned mode
I try to use Linux mint 18.3 with two displays. But it recognizes them as a single one and shows the same picture on both of them. The mode of extended screen is unavailable in admin dashboard screenshot of display settings physically it looks enter image description here all system was updated but problem still is the same

Does the system have two VGA ports and if not, how are the two displays connected to the system/laptop?

You need to post much more complete system info, copy/paste this to the terminal and copy/paste the text output here ...
... but I suspect you need a newer kernel.
