[Solved] How to setup a dual monitor desktop system for Linux Mint on cheap budget in 2018?

Post by zidgear1357 »

Any idea which CPU has built in graphics card that can support 3 display monitors. And what's the motherboard to work with that CPU?

Okay, I got it here:
CPU [Intel] Core i3 7100
FCLGA1151 socket, 3.90 GHz with Intel® HD Graphics 630 built in, can support 4K Support Yes, at 60Hz, Max Resolution of HDMI 1.4 4096x2304@24Hz, Max Resolution of DP 4096x2304@60Hz, DirectX* 12, OpenGL* 4.4, Number of Displays Supported: 3 !! Multiple monitors!!! Intel® Hyper-Threading Technology, Intel® Virtualization Technology (VT-x) https://ark.intel.com/products/97455/In ... e-3_90-GHz

Mainboard/Motherboard [Gigabyte] GA-H110M-H
HDMI 1.4 & D-sub ports, Support for DDR4 2400/2133 MHz memory modules Onboard Graphics - Integrated Graphics Processor - Intel® HD Graphics support: 1 x D-Sub port, supporting a maximum resolution of 1920x1200@60 Hz 1 x HDMI port, supporting a maximum resolution of 4096x2160@24 Hz https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA ... -rev-10#ov

RAM [Micron] DDR4-2400 8G

HardDrive [Seagate] 1TB (ST1000DM010)

Monitor [AOC] E2180SWN 20.7" HD/FHD,TN 1920x1080, 90°/65°, D-sub

Monitor [BenQ] GW2270H 21.5" LED 16:9, 1920x1080, 178°/178°, D-sub & HDMI

This [Intel] CPU i3 7100 has built in graphics processing capability like a GPU, and together with onboard video card on the Motherboard [Gigabyte] GA-H110M-H, you can have HD dual monitor displays WITHOUT a graphics card!

I've just bought this whole computer system and installed Linux Mint 18.3 Cinnamon (based on Ubuntu 16.4). Everything works like a charm with 1920x1080 High Resolution in D-sub(VGA). Wow!!!

BTW, I will update this post for the Linux Mint 19(based on Ubuntu 18.4) soon!
