Yes, I think I will also now get in contact with the company I bought it from.

Furthermore it just happened a few minutes ago that the issue also occurred using the USB stick with Linux Mint.

I believe that in the meanwhile I maybe have found a solution. However at the end I still have an open question. Maybe somebody has an idea.

In the past days I tried Manjaro and Ubuntu from USB but the issue still occurred. I tried Ubuntu as somebody wrote in a German forum that it works for him (https://www.heise.de/forum/c-t/Kommenta ... 0678/show/).

Now I updated the kernel to the version 4.17.5-041705-generic. Since yesterday I haven't had any problems regarding black screens anymore. Never before has it run this long before. I'm still wary but also hopeful.

For anybody reading and who hasn't got a clue how to update the kernel here are two links explaining how to:
- https://www.wikihow.com/Install-and-Upg ... Linux-Mint
- https://itsfoss.com/upgrade-linux-kernel-ubuntu/

I can recommand the second one. The GUI tool Ukuu makes it super easy!

If it works good the kernel should be activated as default in GRUB. I am not sure if this happens automatically. I did this via the GUI tool Grub Customizer. See:
- https://askubuntu.com/questions/100232/ ... boot-order
I just had to save the configuration as it was automatically flagged as changed. That is why I'm not sure if this was done from this tool or Ukuu.

However today I had it again that I got 4 beeps at startup. But there are no noticeable issues?! I again did 2 memtester executions (5x and 10x runs) and everything is ok.
Stupid question. Updating GRUB can have nothing to do with it, can it (at least it wouldn't make sense to me)? Has anybody got a clue what the 4 beeps can mean if there are no problems?
It leaves me with this weird feeling. It does not happen every boot (maybe only 2 to 4 times in total since I have this PC). I checked online and found this:
- http://www.ami.com/ami_downloads/AMIBIO ... _Codes.pdf
Here it says that 4 beeps could also mean "Flash Programming successful". However that confuses me even more. What would be randomly flashed?
In general I have the problem that I cannot see anything on the screen at that point as my Eizo monitor has the annoying "feature" to switch between the different inputs searching for a signal if the active one does not send a signal currently (so not the case at boot). I have never found a way to deactivate this.

Thanks again in advance :-)

When does it beep, before or after the GRUB menu/Mint logo? Beeps at POST are a BIOS error message, 4 beeps in a row means there was a problem accessing (some of) your RAM.

That unfortunately is my problem. My monitor automatically switches from Display Port to HDMI and so on at boot (have not found a way to switch this off). So I cannot see what actually is the exact output. When I quickly try to switch back to Display Port I see the Mint logo.

Yesterday after many hours the black screen occurred again... And then after a few minutes immediately again. I'm sending the hardware back.

Thanks to everybody for their extensive help :-)

On Friday I received the replacement hardware. The error has since then not occurred anymore. So it must have been a hardware issue.

However strangely on some boots I still get 4 beeps but I have no issues at all with the system (at least currently).

I've therefore marked the thread as solved.
