SOLVED Could not display "media/root/SSD-drive-name" The location is not a folder

Post by MintyMorkyMindy » Sun Jul 15, 2018 7:30 am

Hi,

I get the following error message when clicking on my SDD for the first time, after LM19 has started:
Could not display "media/root/SSD-drive-name"
The location is not a folder
I Right Mouse Click, and select "unmount", and then when I click again on the SDD it works.

I think the SDD is at this location, looking at the var/log/syslog :

Code: Select all

Mounted /dev/sdb1 at /media/root/SSD-drive-name
How can I fix this?

Thank you

:)

PS

This is my etc/fstab

Code: Select all

# /etc/fstab: static file system information.
#
# Use 'blkid' to print the universally unique identifier for a
# device; this may be used with UUID= as a more robust way to name devices
# that works even if disks are added and removed. See fstab(5).
#
# <file system> <mount point> <type> <options> <dump> <pass>
# / was on /dev/sdb2 during installation
UUID=21456cef-0a3c-46a4-a082-a695221a9886 /               ext4    errors=remount-ro 0       1
# /boot/efi was on /dev/sdb1 during installation
UUID=1C33-21D0  /boot/efi       vfat    umask=0077      0       1
/swapfile none swap sw 0 0

Are you running as root?

If you want folks here to help you I would suggest posting the output of the following command:

Code: Select all

sudo blkid -c /dev/null -o list

As a user. I need to Sudo.

This is after LM19 has just booted. sdb1 and, sdc1 sdc2, are new SDDs.

Code: Select all

device fs_type label mount point UUID
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
/dev/sda1 ext4 2 TB /media/username/2 TB dd00d1e4-b765-4167-909e-42896da631d4
/dev/sdb1 ext4 ext4 - storage (not mounted) e5968d20-556b-4fe0-8e84-85dfcf19d6ae
/dev/sdc1 (not mounted)
/dev/sdc2 ntfs (not mounted) 1864B2DF64B2BEB6
/dev/sdd1 ext4 1 TB /media/username/1 TB 1afda939-2ec7-4cba-8bff-d4ba60937f66
/dev/sde1 vfat /boot/efi 1C33-21D0
/dev/sde2 ext4 / 21456cef-0a3c-46a4-a082-a695221a9886

I am going to mark this as SOLVED as I don't think the problem will happen again with the SDDs.

The error message is different to my other post about bookmarks not working, but the remedy I think will be good for this too. If not, I'll just update.

The solution in this instance I refer to is here:
