run all the commands and post entire results, you have to unload the module to change parameter settings, that will result in temporary loss of wireless

Output from the whole line and the wireless options did come back after I ran the block as a group instead of just the first one. Also before I ran that group the connective to my home wifi was around 50%. After doing it I'm at 97% :D

After running the sudo modprobe rtl8723de ant_sel=2 the percentage is higher?

If that is true do

Code: Select all

echo "options rtl8723de ant_sel=2" | sudo tee /etc/modprobe.d/rtl8723de-ant.conf
Then you will have the better setting automatically after reboot instead of having to run other commands

The only output after running that was: options rtl8723de ant_sel=2.

Nothing else seemed to happen. DId that essentially save the settings we did earlier.

I am still floating in the 95-100% mark. So we can make this one solved. Thanks again. You're the best.

It should have saved it, if you want to check do

Code: Select all

cat /etc/modprobe.d/rtl8723de-ant.conf
See if that output is the same

Hey guys, I had exactly the same issue, your steps helped.

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install dkms git build-essential
git clone -b extended https://github.com/lwfinger/rtlwifi_new.git
sudo dkms add ./rtlwifi_new
cd rtlwifi_new
make
sudo make install
Thank you very much.. Just over the night my wifi completely disappeared. This helped. Thanks a million!
