CD/DVD drive not seen

Post by dave_2018 »

I have a Toshiba Satellite C655 laptop with the latest Cinnamon Mint18.3.6.7 (64bit) installed. The CD/DVD is a TSSTcorp CDDVDW SN-208AB.

My problem is I am trying to burn a ISO file, but the drive is "greyed" out. How can I resolve this?
Do I need to add a "driver" or ?

Thanks ahead for any solutions, suggestions or help on this.

Which burner utility are you using, and are you suggesting the utility doesn't see the blank media after inserting in the drive?

lsblk should show the drives installed

Code: Select all

 lsblk
NAME MAJ:MIN RM SIZE RO TYPE MOUNTPOINT
sr0 11:0 1 1024M 0 rom
"Tune for maximum Smoke and then read the Instructions".
