Gigabyte GA-AB350M-D3V motherboard and Mint 18.3

Post by steveis2 »

Hi,
Does anyone have experience of using this motherboard with Linux Mint 18.3, or any version of Mint? Any information would be very welcome. If I install this motherboard would I have to reinstall Linux Mint or would my existing installation work? My existing motherboard is an Gigabyte A320M-HD2

Regards Steve

Running the sibling board -D3H in my specs. The only tip on getting my system stable was using the new "Typical Current Idle" option in BIOS. That stopped the idle freeze problems reported here and on other Linux boards.

Not seeing all your current integration specs, tough to say if the move is a problem. As long as you're not building with a new Raven Ridge APU, probably would work fine. Getting the right integrated kernel, et.al. with Raven Ridge is still problematic.

If you want a better answer from me and others, run the following command from Terminal and post back the results on the current system.

Code: Select all

Hi
Thanks for your reply. I have copied the results of inxi -Fxz below
I currently have an X4 950 Athlon processor but if I change the motherboard I will have a Ryzen 3 1200.
Thanks for any advice.

Steve
