LM19 cinnamon - how to enable 10 bit color?

Code: Select all

10 bit compatible specs:
Monitor: BenQ PD3200Q, 32" 2k 10 bit
GPU: GTX 1060 6 GB
OS: LM 19 Cinnamon
There is some conflicting information about the required hardware, operating system, direct X, OpenGL, application, when seeking to utilize 10 bit color.

Editing the Xorg.conf to change 24 bit to 30 bit resulted in a non responsive LM 19 desktop. Easily resolved by TimeShift - which is software of the year 2018 in my view.

If you have experience with 10 bit, if you use 10 bit, and on Linux, it would be really useful to know how you achieved such.

I am continuing to research this and hope to understand why 10 bit isn't an option within NVIDIA Server Settings.

Linux Mint since 5 October 2014 :D
