booting lm19 from usb problem

Post by Minty_64 »

okay so i figured out my motherboard and linux don't play well unless i do what is suggested here https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2326722

but this doesn't help while booting to a usb? i edited the grub but no change
instead i get this: initramfs unable to find a boot medium containing live file system

most suggestions are to update firmware on the motherboard but i have the recent update

any help?

I remember that old IOMMU problem on one of my old Gigabyte boards.

From your description it sounds like you've resolved the USB issue, or you wouldn't even see grub.

I would start by re-downloading your ISO image ( make sure its V2 version 2 ) checking the checksum and re-creating the boot media. Sounds like there's an error with your current one.

If you have access to a Windows machine use rufus https://rufus.akeo.ie to do this, its extremely reliable.
