ASUS Prime X370 Pro, no cpu temp and no fan speeds

First off all, well done Linux Mint crew!!! Next too all components worked fine, out of the box with only one exception! Love it!!
I am obviously not able to get the temperature sensors and the fan speeds of the CPU running. I have tried to update the kernel to the newest version, ran the sensors detect command multiple times but no sensor was found. I have tried multiple sensors/temp-applications to no effect. I have also tried a life versions of Linux Mint 19 and the latest Kubuntu Version. The MB/CPU (ASUS Prime X370 Pro/AMD A12-9800E) should have a detectable sensor, because the BIOS has a read out. Since i would like to tweak the system a little bit, i would need to know the temps and the correlating fan speeds. Does anyone have a solution found yet. A thx up front for your help!

That board is pretty much brand new on the market. Obviously the kernel doesn't yet fully support the board's chipset. There are only two things you can do:

1) Wait
2) Experiment

With respect to waiting, you need to wait for and install BIOS updates from ASUS, and for a kernel that supports the chipset in the hope that one or both might fix the issue.

As for 2), and I think this is your best bet, though it is controversial to some people, experiment with later, out of tree, upstream, non-Ubuntu kernels.
Mainline kernels are not supported in the same way that a regular, run of the mill rep versions offered through the regular update channels or via the LTS HWE process.

These kernels are unmodified upstream kernels and are built using Ubuntu kernel configuration files.

You should not assume these kernels will be reliable enough for everyday use. You install them at your own risk. Be aware that as these are pure upstream releases they do not include any Ubuntu-specific drivers or patches, nor any proprietary modules or restricted binary drivers.
