Linux Mint installation live usb fails to boot ? Do you get any error messages ?
Re: Motherboard ROG ZENITH EXTREME;ASUS
I haven't tried to install mint on the machine yet; I just wondered if there were any kernals or drivers available for the motherboard.
I contacted the manufacturer and was told they only support windows os.
Thanks for the reply.

I am running Mint 19 Cinnamon on my Asus ROG Zenith Extreme and it seems to be fine. I have Windows 10 on a separate drive in the machine.
Installation went fine once I got my drive properly formatted.
I used Windows to make bootable usb following the instructions here: https://linuxmint-installation-guide.re ... en/latest/

Nice little bit of kit, there.
Linux supports the X399 chipset and Threadripper CPUs. Less sure about drivers for certain peripheral devices like the Wi-Fi card or the network adapters.
Keep us posted. I'm planning a 1920X and X399 Prime-A build for later in the year.

+1
Best thing is to try using a live usb.
You can check the database too.
