Multiple Bluetooth Speakers.

Mint Ver 18 – Sarah – Cinnamon.

I’ve been trying to get this computer to run three Bluetooth speakers from a MP3 Music Library at the same time. (All playing the same tune to speakers in different rooms)

Google has given me conflicting answers, so I wondered if anyone here has had any success doing this?

Not sure of the answer to your question, but that may depend upon the Bluetooth speakers and your Bluetooth transceiver. You may need to use a Bluetooth transceiver that is 4.1 or higher with "aptx" for attaching to multiple Bluetooth devices at one time and they are available on Amazon.com at reasonable prices. There are Bluetooth speakers that are designed to be chained together see Amazon link below and multi-room. It looks like there are a couple smartphone apps that can do this (Tempow and AmpME).

Thanks very much phd21, your input is appreciated.

Yes, it looks to me like a standard USB Bluetooth Dongle is only good for pairing with one device.

However, a Bluetooth Transmitter is good for more, but typically only two devices.

Then stereo comes into the equation and I can’t find any defining article as to just how that works.

However, during my research I have found This: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_2.4_GHz_radio_use a list of all the products that can interfere with Bluetooth, so the quality of the sound may not be good if one has any of these devices running at the same time as you are trying to listen to music.

I guess it’s a case of try it and see, whilst bearing in mind the outcome may not be what was hoped for.
