[SOLVED] Linux Mint (19 Cinnamon) installation on USB 3.0 SSD

Post by TotalLinuxNoob » Tue Sep 18, 2018 5:23 am

Do anyone have experience with Linux Mint (19 Cinnamon) on external SSDs?

Currently i am running Linux on my 32 GB USB 3.0 Stick.
I also have tested it on a partition yesterday.

Now i am thinking about to buy a regular SSD like Samsung EVO 860 and connect it external with a USB 3.0 case.

I would like to know, If the performance is equal good compared to a internal connection with SATA.
Is USB 3.0 good enough to compete with SATA?
