Fingerprint reader on Dell Latitude E7240 (LMDE2)

Post by Marsjanin »

Hello. I used to have Lenovo Thinkpad x201 and fprintd just works out-of-the-box on LMDE2. Now I have Dell Latitude E7240, and I just bought new palmrest with fingerprint reader and NFC. Then I ran fprintd-enroll, and… I got answer list_devices failed: No devices available. While lsusb says Bus 003 Device 004: ID 0a5c:5801 Broadcom Corp. BCM5880 Secure Applications Processor with fingerprint swipe sensor. So I guess there's a lack of some firmware or driver, but I can't guess what should I install and how to do that. Maybe it's some silly thing, but I'm confused. How can i use that? I prefer not to install any GUI stuff unless it's necessary, the fprintd that worked on Lenovo was satisfying for me.
