Is it possible to install Nvidia Drivers from Nvidia made for linux?

Post by spinnerm » Thu Sep 20, 2018 10:19 pm

Hello Guys,

I searched the forums for some indication of how to install Nvidia drivers that are provided by Nvidia on their site in Linux Mint. They are ubunto based or at least should work with an Ubunto kernal which I understand the base of Mint is Ubunto. Im not new to linux or mint but I am not someone who knows how to install a driver without them being available through the gui interface and Driver Manager. I am running mint on a AMD threadripper using virtualbox for Linux Mint and other varieties as well.
Thanks in advance for any assistance or reommendations!!,
Michael

You cannot install the nVidia driver into a VirtualBox VM. The VM's video is passed-through to your host video card, which is presumably the nVidia card you're talking about.
