Viewing Files on Second HDD

Post by muttleytm »

I have a Lenovo 200 with a docking base. The dock has an Ultrabay which I often put a second hdd with Windows on it that I can boot from in the event I need to use Windows. That works fine. However, it seems like since both of these hdds are on the same computer that I might be able to view the files on both of them and copy back and forth, etc. while booted from the main drive with Linux or the Windows drive for that matter.

I can only see the drive I boot from in my file manager.

Is this possible? If so how would I go about setting it up so I can do this?

TIA

Hello,

I suspect the problem is that the inserted drive is not being auto mounted, Linux can read MS disks but MS won't read Linux partitions. (though there are programs that will allow windows to read linux disks. )
