Unable to open USB pen drive in new Tara edition .
getting message no programs associated with it. unknown file type
my media folder in system is showing unreadable and If I open this USB stick in root able to read and write files in it but this usb again dont work in my windows. I need to transfer some data offline from my laptop of window.
can any one help me

Make sure that the USB is formatted as NTFS or fat32 filesystem. Otherwise Windows can't read it.
sudo gparted /dev/sdb will enable you to format the usb.
When in gparted program make sure that the size of sab is same as your USB, just to make sure you are using the usb only. Giving wrong device here will erase data from it.
