No hardware acceleration

Post by ornulv » Tue Nov 06, 2018 10:39 am

A few days ago, the screen on my laptop(hp8560p) went black, sometimes I could access the system, sometimes not. Replaced the old hard drive with a new one, downloaded Mint Tara on a usb stick, installation went ok, during package download system crashed once, but ok after restart.

But the same problem prevails. and I get this message, that system is running without hardware acceleration. Searched the forum, found that the command
inxi -Gx, or inxi -b, could give a clue, but I don`t have the knowledge to read the result.
I can give the info from the terminal, if somebody can help.

Ps. There is also a grey, translucent square attached to the pointer.

Hi ornulv.

inxi -Fxz will give the info most would like to see. Go ahead and copy what that outputs into your next reply. When pasting large blocks of text, please enclose the results in-between [ⅽode] and [/ⅽode] code markers by selecting </> from the mini toolbar above the textbox where you type your reply.

Well done. Now we just have to wait for someone that knows how to help with this issue. Unfortunately, I'm not that person.
