2012 MacBook Pro Display Not Turning Off, LM19 [Fixed]

Post by Caboose30 » Wed Nov 07, 2018 1:47 am

Like the title says, I installed LM19 on a 2012 Macbook Pro (i5, 4GB RAM, Intel HD 3000 GPU). I have it set up to suspend on lid close when it's on battery, and do nothing when it's on AC power. What happens on initial install is when the lid is shut on AC power, the backlight and LCD shut off. That seems to be temporary because invariably it switches to doing neither of those when I shut the lid. I don't know if it's because of a buggy update, or something gets overwritten when I adjust the power management options.

TL;DR - I want it to shut off the LCD output and turn off the backlight when I close the lid while connected to AC power.

P.S. I searched the forums for over an hour trying to find something relevant to this, so if I missed it I'm sorry.

I kind of narrowed down what needs to happen. I really need the "blank screen" or "turn off display" option added to the power management menu for things to do when the laptop lid is shut while on AC power. Does anyone know how to do this? All my googling is just turning up tons of results of people wanting to turn that feature off, and I really want to turn it on.

I fixed it! By following this guide | viewtopic.php?t=214890 | I was able to change the option to blank the screen manually. Kind of a pain, and now in power management it shows up as a blank option, but it works!
