Is there a way to enable smooth scrolling with the mouse wheel on a USB mouse in Linux Mint?
I've looked in the mouse configuration section and do not see that option.
This is in Linux Mint Tara. Mouse is a Microsoft USB laptop mouse.
A single move on the mouse wheel seems to scroll the screen about 10 or more lines at a time. There also seems to be no option to adjust the number of lines scrolled for each small roll of the mouse wheel. Is there a way to lower it to scroll fewer lines at a time?

Re: How to enable smooth scrolling on USB Mouse
I think it's up to applications how many lines they scroll. Are you asking about a specific application?

Primarily Firefox 64bit ver.62. I think that's it.
The mouse scrolls fine in text lines shown in Terminal in Linux Mint.
How do we adjust the number of lines a mouse scrolls in Firefox and in Libre Office?

in FF, it is either "smooth" or jagged ( my version of it )
and Google links to here for LibreOffice

Thank you. Got that now for Firefox. :>)
In Libre, the link you posted has this as a fix for Libre Writer "env SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gtk libreoffice --writer" to be copied to Terminal and run.
That seems to work well in Writer for me. :>))

Re: How to enable smooth scrolling on USB Mouse
apparently, in the past, I saw that fix also, because when I first started using Linux, LibreOffice infuriated me with not doing what I wanted it to do.
e.g. it was not emulating MS Word exactly....
so, I started on the trail of tuning it for my preferences, and one of those preferences is to ignore LO 6.x
it stinks, I am staying with LO 5.x
I installed LO 6.x and the more I tried to use it, the madder I got, so it got deleted, and I went back to 5.x
