(SOLVED) Installing NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-415.13.run In Linux Mint Cinnamon 19

(SOLVED) Installing NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-415.13.run In Linux Mint Cinnamon 19

i currently have version 390.77 of the driver installed and would like to up grade it to the current 415.13. i open terminal, sudo su, drag NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-415.13.run to it, starts extracting, and then i get told i can't because i'm running a xserver. help getting this fixed would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Don't attempt a manual installation of that driver. Use the reliable graphics-drivers PPA instead:
