Hard Drive Expansion

Post by JoHubb » Mon Nov 19, 2018 4:37 am

I run 18.3 Mate.

My 3TB HDD is 2/3 full. I will need to expand capacity soon whilst retaining the existing indexing system.
Is it possible to add, say, another 3TB HDD, and do this? If so, how?

Or, would it be simpler to buy a 6TB drive and copy over? I am nervous of very large drives because of the risk of losing huge amounts of data.

I'd be grateful for advice.

Thanks!

It's just a simple alphabetical index using Dolphin. If I add a new 3TB disk drive to the existing one, can I span the data across both - as if I had a single drive?

The partitions are complicated because it is a triple boot system with Windows 10 and Kubuntu. Mint is the default. I am not going to fiddle around with partitions!
