Mint 17.3 , change hdd to a EVO 860 SSD

Post by Bingo0600 »

Hello

My first SSD "conversion" , i come from a 1TB Toshiba HDD.
And have just bought an EVO 860 1TB Sata HDD.

My kernel is : 4.4.0-139-generic #165~14.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Wed Oct 31 10:55:11 UTC 2018 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Is all the SSD trim magic etc now embedded in the kernels , or should i do something (manually) here ?

TIA

/Bingo

You don't need to do anything. Trim is automatically run once a week (through /etc/cron.weekly/fstrim).
