I have been having problems transferring photos from my iPhone 7 onto a PC with the 17.3 Rosa OS.
I plug the phone into the USB port and wait for the folder to appear. Then, occasionally it lets me transfer photos from the phone into a folder on the PC. But usually, it doesn't allow me to do that. Here are the different things that happen: a) Nothing happens when I click on the iPhone folder. b) The folder freezes and then the whole system freezes, and there's nothing I can do to get out of the folder. I can't open Terminal to try out commands that I found by googling them, and I can't open any other application. The menu bar does not appear. None of the key combinations such as ALT+ESC+CTRL or CTRL+F2 work. I have to do a manual shut down of the system and start over. Rinse and repeat several times and then occasionally it allows me to transfer the photos. Often it doesn't, and eventually I give up.
It doesn't matter if the phone is on or off.
Is there a solution?

Because Apple® likes incoming money but outgoing is anxiously avoided it is not intended to use an iPhone with any Linux.

Thank you. I'm going to try out libimobiledevice. In Synaptic Package Manager, which one do I select? libimobiledevice4? libimobiledevice4-dbg? One of the other options?phd21 wrote: ⤴Wed Dec 05, 2018 3:21 pm Hi mrniceguy,
