BAMS issue? Battery Monitor and Shutdown app for Tray

Post by AZgl1800 »

I just now witnessed my laptop shutting down instantly.
upon reboot, I looked at BAMS and it showed 77%

I looked at the normal Battery indicator and it also shows 77%.

This is the 2nd time I have had this happen.
The 1st time was when the Lid was closed and it occurred while I was not using the laptop.

anyone have this happen?

I am not sure that the BAMS applet is the cause, but it is the only thing I have installed recently.

I was fortunate in that all I had been doing for the last few hours, was using Firefox, and nothing else.
So, no files damaged.

The other odd thing is, why was the battery at 77% ?
I have the charger plugged in all the time....
Maybe it is time to get a Real honest to gawd, ASUS power supply?

Right now, I am using a spare power module that I found, same specs, just had the wrong plug on it, and I spliced the wires together... kind of like it that way, now I have 12 feet of cable for those weird hotel rooms where the wall sockets are in the wrong place.
