Mouse/touchpad oddity - fix ?

Post by JLC17 »

I'm running Cinnamon 18.3 on an HP laptop with touchpad.

Usually I use a USB mouse, and I swap the buttons (I'm left handed). All good. When I have to use my laptop away from the office, I use the touchpad.

In the past, I've powered the laptop down, and then powered up to usday, e it - and the touchpad responds left handed (buttons swapped),

Today, though, I just suspended my session, and restarted when I got to my appointment. However the touchpad buttons were set to right-handed and I noticed there was no way to get the settings panel to swap them. The *mouse* tab of the settings page was set to "swap buttons". But there's no setting for the touchpad.

In the end I restarted the machine, and the touchpad picked up the mouse LH settings.

Is there an easier way to get the touchpad to be left handed in future - some daemon to restart or something ?
