LM19.1 - Hibernate requires authentication

Hopefully this isn't a hard problem. I've just upgraded to LM 19.1, and hibernate has been an issue (not unexpected). I'm using a two year old laptop (Acer), with a swap partition, and I'm not using LVM.

I've managed to get to the point where

Code: Select all

systemctl hibernate
works, but only with a request to enter my password. The output is something like:

Code: Select all

user@pc:~$ systemctl hibernate
Failed to hibernate system via logind: Access denied
Failed to start Access denied
See system logs and 'systemctl status' for details.
user@pc:~$ systemctl status
‚óŹ - Hibernate
Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/; static; vendor preset:
   Active: inactive (dead)
     Docs: man:systemd.special(7)
Once the password is entered and authenticated the system does hibernate and it does resume, although it's not asking for my password to get back in like it used to.

Any ideas?

I've reverted to 18.3 as there seems to be no answer to the authentication request on hibernation.

Interestingly, hibernation works out of the box on my laptop, with the only caution I took being to alter the partition sizes to make the swap partition a little larger than the memory.
