I have a dual boot configuration that uses win10 and linux mint 19.1
If I play videos from youtube the volume is much lower in linux mint than win10.
I have tried modifying ~/.asoundrc and /etc/asound.conf but neither seems to make any difference. No matter what I try as a new type it never shows up when I do a "amixer controls". So Linux mint must be doing something different than normal alsa.
So how do I raise my Master or Speaker volume by 200%?
This on a new Lenovo T480 laptop.

Re: Speaker Volume too low
Hi weaver4.
Install and run PulseAudio Volume Control (pavucontrol.) On the Output Devices tab you can set the volume up to 153%.
Also, if you run
Hope that helps.

Also, if you run
alsamixer
in the terminal, you can ensure Master, PCM and Speakers are all maxed. If you use alsamixer after pavucontrol, pavucontrol will go back down to 100%.Hope that helps.
